Last Saturday night Ricky Mitchell returned to action at the latest round of the QSSS at the Brisbane International Speedway but his latest event was cut short after just one heat race after rain drenched the venue following the completion of heat two. Luckily Ricky was able to get his first heat event completed prior to the rain settling in but his end result didn’t reflect the car speed that the #19 Penrite Oils Cheetah possessed.

“Ricky is driving really well at the moment but he is just having no luck. We got sent the rear again after charging towards to the front on the start. To his credit he fought back to sixth” added Car Owner Peter Mitchell.

“It is just unfortunate about the rain. John and Kathy (Kelly) have had two Sprintcar shows rained out in a row. They tried hard to get the track back into shape but as the cars were track packing they were just bringing more water to the surface”.

So with yet another rain out at the Brisbane venue Track Promoter John Kelly is now considering a catch up event on April 24. If this becomes official the Eagle Ignition Leads / Mitchell Motorsport Team will add this additional event to their season calendar
