The Eagle Ignition Team was back in action last Saturday night (February 20) at the Brisbane International Speedway as they contested round 7 of the QSS Series. Following a rain out the week prior in Sydney Ricky and the team were eager to get back to their home track and despite a set back mid way through the A-Main it proved to another competitive outing as Ricky finished the night in seventh position.

Last Saturday night Queenslander Ricky Mitchell had planned to contest his second meeting of the year at Sydney’s Parramatta City Raceway but it wasn’t to be as unfortunately the venue experienced yet another rain out. Having lost the opportunity to compete on Saturday night Ricky has now set his sights on racing his immaculate #19 Penrite Oils Cheetah this coming weekend at the Brisbane International Speedway.

Wednesday February 3, 2010.
Last Saturday night Ricky Mitchell was one of five Queenslanders to head south to contest the latest round of the Track Championship at the Parramatta City Raceway. After an outstanding run at their previous meeting at the Brisbane International Speedway the team was extremely optimistic of a strong run but unfortunately the night ended for the #19 Eagle Ignition Leads Cheetah in the B-Main after a fuel fitting failure.

Queenslander Ricky Mitchell had his best night of competition since his return to racing last Saturday night at the Brisbane International Speedway with a strong sixth placed result behind the wheel of his Q19 Eagle Ignition Leads Cheetah in round six of the track championship series. After fighting his way into the main event from the last chance B-main Ricky stormed through the pack to just miss out on his first top five of 2010.

Queenslander Ricky Mitchell returned to the driver’s seat of his #19 Eagle Ignition Leads Cheetah for the first time in seven months recently as he contested the USA Sprintcars show mid week along with Round 9 of World Series Sprintcars at his home track in Brisbane. With one of the hottest fields ever seen in Brisbane, which included six Americans and four drivers who have held the Australian Championship crown, it was always going to a tough ask and despite the fact that Ricky was “a little rusty” the team was quietly pleased with the overall outcome.

Ricky Mitchell and his immaculate #Q19 Eagle Ignition Leads Cheetah will be back on track in the new year having missed the opening few months of the 2009/10 season. Due to a heavy work load for both Ricky and Team Principal Peter Mitchell the team has been forced to watch from the sidelines but come January 6 they will kick off their 2010 campaign at the Brisbane International Speedway against the leading Queensland drivers and of course a handful of the best from the United States of America.

Sunday June 14, 2009.
Last weekend (June Long Weekend) the 2008/09 season came to an end for the Eagle Ignition Leads / Mitchell Motorsport Team and its driver Ricky Mitchell at the 2009 Queensland Sprintcar Title at Maryborough. After just missing the preliminary A-main on night 1 Ricky bounced back to qualify for the Championship decider on Sunday only to have his race cut short after he was caught out by the cushion that had developed on the back straight while running inside the top ten.

Monday June 1, 2009.
Last Saturday night Queenslander Ricky Mitchell enjoyed yet another reasonable outing at the Brisbane International Speedway during the Grand Final of the Comp Cams Sprintcar Series although it should have been even better than the final result suggested. After starting from the third row in the final he was involved in an incident with New South Welshman David Doherty resulting in Ricky being sent to the rear of the field with only a handful of laps remaining.

Monday May 11, 2009.
Ricky Mitchell’s recent string of top ten performances should have been extended last Saturday night during round 11 of the Comp Cams Series at the Brisbane International Speedway but instead it ended on the infield after a final lap incident. After making his way up to a creditable eighth position, after starting from position fourteen, a last lap incident involving Peter Lack and Terry Bracken left Ricky with nowhere to go and as a result he collided heavily with Bracken, who had stopped directly in front of the #19 Eagle Ignition Leads Cheetah.

Tuesday April 21, 2009.
The Mitchell Motorsport Team rolled out their #Q19 Eagle Silicone Ignition Leads Cheetah for the most recent round of the Comp Cams Series (Round 10) at the Brisbane International Speedway last Saturday Night with team driver Ricky Mitchell recording another strong result finishing inside the top ten. After sitting out the Easter weekend Ricky was pretty pleased with the outcome considering he hadn’t driven since late March. “To finish eighth was reasonable. I was a little conservative in the A-main but all in all it was a good night” added Ricky.
